1. Our Privacy Philosophy

Spiritual reading should be sacred and private. We designed Sanatanam to function without user accounts or cloud tracking. You can install and read all included scriptures without providing any personally identifiable information (PII).

2. Information Stored on Your Device

To provide a personalized reading experience, preferences such as text sizing, night-mode display, favorite stotras, and audio playback bookmarks are saved directly on your phone.

This data is not transmitted to our servers. Uninstalling the app or clearing application cache in your Android settings removes this information entirely.

3. Device Permissions

Sanatanam requests only the minimal hardware capabilities necessary to support your chanting and reading:

• Audio Playback: Required to play synchronized verse recitations and mantra audio.
• Network Access: Used exclusively to download supplementary scripture translations or check for content updates.
• Notifications (Optional): Allows you to receive daily shloka reminders if you explicitly enable them.

4. Third-Party Services & Distribution

The App is delivered through the Google Play Store and may use standard runtime libraries (such as Expo). These platform providers handle anonymous diagnostic telemetry (such as crash frequency and OS version) according to their respective policies.

5. Compliance with DPDP Act, 2023

In alignment with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we practice strict data minimization. Since we do not harvest or retain personal identifiers on our backend servers, your data remains under your direct physical possession.

6. Children's Privacy

Sanatanam is suitable for readers of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Policy Modifications

We may revise this policy occasionally as new features are added. Revisions will be published on this URL with an updated “Last Updated” timestamp.
